This Mack was the first of the famous H Series macks produced from 1952 thru 1962. It got the name "Cherrypicker" do to its height. Designated H60T and H61T, these trucks were hard to handle due to the design of their steering column. None the less, they represent one of the true classics of the 1950's.
Carolina Freight Carriers Corp., was started in Cherryville,N.C., in 1931. By 1958, Carolina operated 800 units, with 36 terminals located in 14 states. In 1963, it became a publicly-owned company, and continued to grow through the 1980's and early 1990's.
